There's a stream that goes beside my office building. Way out in the back of the parking lot, there's a bridge over the stream. I release them into the grass on the other side of the stream, and hope that they don't figure it out.
I had about 4 catches over the period of a few weeks, but they looked like different mice. No catches for a couple months now, fortunately.
A bit of peanut butter on a mini pretzel is a great lure.
