I just installed my new Athlon 64 3000+, and Im thinking temps are a bit high. Im running 47C idle, 55C load. Nothing too bad, but enough to make the fan kick into overdrive. This doesnt make sense to me though--I didnt think it was that hot of a chip, and its lower in the line--slower, and generally less heat. Its also sitting in a nice case with *plenty* of ventilation, so I doubt thats it.
Is this just a hot chip in general? The HSF appears to be on just fine, but Ill check it again when I get home anyways. Im baffled
