One-piece or two-piece?
Sportswear firm Puma has filed a EUR2m lawsuit against soccer world governing body FIFA in the latest twist to the row over the strip worn by the Cameroon national team during this year's African Nations Cup.
Puma was left fuming after FIFA outlawed the outfit – and then initially imposed a points penalty on Cameroon for its 2006 World Cup qualifying campaign, putting a huge dent in the nation's hopes of reaching the finals in Germany.
Cameroon was originally hit with the penalty after continuing to wear the Puma strip despite being warned by FIFA chiefs.
The intervention of African soccer federation CAF eventually overturned the point deduction.
Now Puma has asked a German court to rule on a EUR2m damages claim.
The kit courted controversial with its body-hugging one-piece design.
Which beckons my question to you all ... should these one-piece strips be allowed??
I personally don't see any problem with it, in fact at least it would stop players from stripping off their tops after they score goals ... what does that prove anyway, that they have fit bodies?? As professional athletes you would expect that, wouldn't you??!!!
