I did a bit of web searching to find out if this has been researched before; I didn't find that out, but did get this nifty Q&A
from Scarleteen:

Question 8: Most guys have one testicle that hangs a little lower than the other, and/or have a habit of "wearing" their penis to one side or the other.
True! Human beings, like most animals, are bilaterally symmetrical. This means that if you split someone down the middle on a line that goes from the top of their head down a line to their nose, chin, breastbone, bellybutton, etc., they split into two more or less identical halves -- but not completely identical! Parts of your body can sometimes be slightly different on one side than they are on the other.
Most people have one eye that's slightly higher or lower than the other, if you look really really carefully, and the same thing is true of other things that come in pairs, particularly women's breasts and men's testicles/scrotums. It's normal to have one be a little lower than the other, and normal to have one be a little bigger than the other, too.
Many men also find that they feel most comfortable with their penis "packed" towards one side or the other, too. This is particularly noticeable when you wear boxers and loose pants. Apparently for a long time there was the convention, among upscale tailors who made men's clothes, to ask a gentleman which side he "dressed" on - meaning on which side he preferred to have the goodies dangling - and would cut that leg of the trousers a little bit wider at the top so that the gentleman would not suffer any binding or chafing.
Fun Fashion Fact: Historians of body piercing say that the penis piercing known as the "Prince Albert" ( a ring running vertically through the underside of the head of the penis) originated in the 19th-century as a way to tie the penis down against the thigh so that it would not move around or be obtrusive if a man wore fashionably tight trousers.
