If I use a forwarding email account, will spammers start hitting my "target" one?
I enjoy reading sports stories online, especially those written by local papers around the country, but lately, it seems over half of them require registration.
I know that registration results in spam and such, but I was wondering..
If I create a forwarding accout (at HotPOP for instance) and use that address to forward the account info to my "Main (spam-free) account, will the spammers also get my Main address.. Or will they only be able to get the forwarding address?
I'd like to get the account info and such forwarded to me via HotPOP, and I don't mind the spam being forwarded also, as long as they don't get the "target" address of my main email account.
I can always create another HotPOP account when the spam gets out of hand, I just would like my main account to remain as spam-free as possible.
Does anyone know how this would work, and if I did use a forwarding email provider, if my main account would remain "invisible" to the spammers that get the forwarding address?
Thanks!
