I can't believe everyone hates LA...you guys are crazy. It's not the best city in the world for tourists I admit, but come on, this is extreme. I could name 30 cities in California alone that are worse. I liked LA from the first time I ever came here, even more than San Francisco the first time, though if you gave me the option of where to live/visit now it would be SF. Partly because I realized how great SF is and partly because I've already been here and done that, not because I like LA less.

Havent done much foreign travelling, to the Caribbean and Mexico mostly, but when I finally get to Europe I know I will love London and Amsterdam.
