Teenager's Game Leads To Invasion Fears
DELLACH, Austria -- An Austrian teenager who dressed up as a soldier to play war games in the woods sparked a major alert over fears the country was being invaded.
The 15-year-old boy, from Dellach, was dressed up in military camouflage gear complete with a wooden toy rifle.
He was spotted by a 53-year-old forester who thought the area was coming under attack from a foreign army. He called local police who led a hunt for the "army" involving helicopters, special Cobra combat forces and sniffer dogs.
The teenager who was finally caught said he had not intended to hurt anyone and was only on his way to a friend's house to play soldiers after months of watching the war on TV.
