I tried a home electrolosis machine once, but I was just horsing around and don't think I really did it right. It had an attachment similiar to a tweezers that you held the hair with very close to the root. You had to hold it there for three or four minutes. My wife (at the time) tried it a bit more seriously than me, and she gave up on it. So, I guess you've got to really want it.
