After I deleted Win32 folder because of a virus, my whole computer shut down and was a worthless $1,000 paperweight
So I had to re-install windowsXp with the help of the Dell tech support, and managed to save all my files. I went searching though all the folders and move all the files I wanted to desktop and burned all personal files (papers/family photos/porn) I also moved all my game folders to the home page
Now questions:
1- I have lots of saved games still on the system I don’t want to lose. If I insert the game CD I get the ‘Install” prompt instead of the game automatically loading. All the games will play, but with out my saved files. Certain games I will load by clicking on the icon in the respected folder with the game CD in the drive. Example: Diablo 2 will play with all my saved characters, But Halo and Grand Theft Auto VC won’t have my saves, but will start a new game
How do I recover my saved games?
How do I create shortcuts on my desktop to “return my system to the way it was?”
I cant get PlanetSide to load at all - any ideas?
2- I also have the same problem with Kazaa Lite. I have the program installed, but how do I get it work again
3- and AIM – should I just uninstall it and download it again?
4 – Which is better Kazaa, Limewire or other?
5- How can i make sure my Nortons is working? I had just renewed my subscription when everything went boom
Many, many thanks

First, do you have a registry back-up? If so simply open it in wordpad and search for the game/ game company
that won't start, then open your current registry and add what is missing. If you have a back-up and need further instructions, I will happily give more indepth instructions.
1. GTA:VC saves its games in the "My Documents" folder on your win32 drive. You might have lost your saves if you trashed that folder.
Some games have an X.reg file (looks like teal building block) you need to click that to put the games back in the registry.
I would bet planetside has account/cd-key information in the registry and that is why it will not start.
2. Just re-install KL, it will only take a minute and will save the hassle of registry changes.
3. Ditto for aim, back-up your friend list first.
4. Depends how computer literate you are. If your damn good with computers, I would suggest MIRC and ircspy.com. If you are not good with computer, Emule, Bit Torrent and Kazaa Lite would be my suggestions depending on what your needs are.
Search for p2p for more information.
5. Type "MSconfig" in your run console (after you click start, bottom right). Go to the startup tab, see if norton services are starting. If Norton services are starting, I would say with 90% probility Norton is working.
