Trying to reach beyond the hardcore game market and into the general public, Microsoft released a movie-quality trailer to the Web today of its upcoming first-person shooter Halo 2, which already has made its mark in theaters across the country.
The clip is about 30 seconds long and features a few slivers of new footage blended in with familiar cuts that Halo 2 fans have seen before.
Microsoft's trailer is currently being shown in about 1,500 Loews Cineplex screens across the United States. For those who're taking in all those blockbusters hits this summer the trailer will be shown prior to Spider-Man 2, The Village, King Arthur, I, Robot, Catwoman and Alien vs. Predator.
The Halo 2 trailer was designed by Ant Farm, the Hollywood company recognized for its work on trailers on films including The Lord of the Rings, Spider-Man 2, Shrek, Kill Bill and the Harry Potter series.
