I work in NYC in offices above the Century 21 store on Cortland street, and have for the the last 4 years, so don't go all "global community" with me. Take that One-World, "I'd Love to teach the World to Sing" crap and park it in your garage. I'm an American.

I think you miss my point.
I too live in NYC and have for many years before 9/11. But let's put this into perspective. If you don't pay attention to what's outside of your "day to day" and suddenly something or someone blindsides you because you weren't paying attention, it merits at least being waking up and being vigilant and paying attention to other situations.
While it may not affect you the same ways that it has affected me and my friends and collegues, doesn't mean that I'm "touchy" compared to you. It just means I deal with things differently than you.
I have an office in Nashville so to me, this affects my coworkers in some way I'm sure of it.
