A couple worth mentioning for me would be Erik Van Lusbader's Sunset Warrior series and the Ring of Five Dragons.
His other stuff is excellent as well for you ninja lovin' folks.
Walter Mosley's Blue Light is good sci fi and his Easy Rawlins series is excellent reading.
I've been reading a lot of future fic like Hammer's Slammers and Simon R Green's Deathstalker series.
Now I have to dig out my DL series to re-read it.
