here is a fine example supporting my point:
Saturday night I go to see a Chicago band called The Bad Examples. Straight forward bluesy bar rock. I wear my Reverend Horton Heat work shirt, and within 5 minutes of getting there, a guy comes up to me and strikes up a conversation abou the Rev. Would he have approached me had I been wearing a Bad Examples T-Shirt? No, because he probably assumes everyone in the bar likes the band (which is why they are there). So just wearing that shirt got me a fun conversation to kill the time before the band went on...
