Depends what you are going to mod it for? I have heard Xbox's make GREAT media centers when modded, especially if you drop a 120GB HDD in there.
If you mod an Xbox, make sure you positively, absolutely, NEVER sign on to Xbox Live with the mod activated. You will be banned.. Not sure if it is IP or Serial number, but you are FUBAR.
