I've tried a wide variety of american beer... Here are some reasons I don't like drinking american beer:
a) Drinking weak beer
b) Not supporting local breweries
So ergo, I don't like, or drink, american beer, it has surprisingly little to do with the taste.

I can get behind you in regards to drinking local beer. Everyone should(unless the beer in your region is crap). But weak beer? Dude, most micros in the US aren't making weak beer. Ommegang, who I mentioned at the top doesn't make a beer with a lower ABV than 5%, not very strong, but most of ther beers are between 7 and 9. Those aren't weak beers.
Regarding people who say they just haven't found good american beer, go out and look. I promise, if you're in the US, you'll find some. You'll probably find some made in your region. The whole point of having a month for American beers to raise people's awareness. If you don't try, you'll never find anything worth a damn.
Some suggested breweries:

Go out and try some, you might find one you like.
