I've been reading this for a couple of years, and I've actually e-mailed back and forth a few times with Stephen Pastis. If you go back beyond last year, there was a character named Farina who is my wife's idol. She is a pig who is so concerned about cleanliness that she walks around in a bubble, and Rat is in love with her.
I keep begging Stephen to bring her back.
