It's not about recouping her monetary loss. It's about an
effective punishment. This gets the little delinquent right where it hurts. Not only doesn't he get to
play with his video game...it's gone...sold.
And to add a little salt to his wound...he still has the games themselves, that he gets to sit and look at longingly.
