Yeah, I was really wondering what he was thinking. The Penguins don't exactly have a lot going for them right now.
I also forgot to mention that the Ottawa Senators, after making big waves bringing in Peter Bondra from the Washington Capitals, have decided not to renew his contract next season.
[edit:] I just looked it up. Recchi was making $5 million with the Flyers, but will only be making $3 million (3 year, $9 million contract) with the Penguins, so his move puzzles me even more.
