I think honestly, If he would have choosen someone from ohio, that would have been huge. Ohio has gotten its ass kicked around in Bush's term. Locally, almost every single major factory has shut down, or is in the process of doing so.
In my town, (canton) both bush, and Kerry have visited here, and spoke. It's also a pretty well known fact that if you win ohio, you win the election. Only 2 times has that not been true.
Ohio holds a lot of symbolism, and has a lot of union power.
I think Edwards is still a good pick.
