What kind of system is that? Most rezi systems use a phone line to call out (another trick is to call the number and not hang up, thus tying up the line).
Phone line cut = no communication.
Kill the power to kill the audible.
The only way around that is a cellular back-up. I just did one for FPS (Federal Protective Service) in a SCIF (SeCure InFormation) room. Kinda cool though, our design had to be pre-approved by the CIA.
Any way, I digress. The alarm has to have a way of communicating. I don't see how the system could communicate if you cut the lines of communication. Rezi systems are pretty inexpensive so the extra cost for a cellular back-up is quite uncommon
