I can say that i used to be a right little git in my younger years at school, pretty much starting fights every 10 minutes.
Thankfully, i calmed down a load, and am now pretty much a pacifist all the way through.
The only major fight i've been involved in was at a party with some friends. My little sis turned up crying saying that a group of guys have just chased her here and generally were really scaring her.
I've never really been much of a bigger brother, but as soon as i found out they were hanging around nearby, i grabbed a couple of my larger, more drunken mates, and stormed outside.
We found this bunch of guys about 18 yrs old (my sister at the time was 15) throwing things at passing cars.
In a nutshell, we friends grabbed them and asked them what the fuck they thought they were playing at.
It was at this point one of them threw a punch, and all hell broke loose.
In the end we were dragged away kicking and screaming (by pretty much the rest of the partygoers) from the entire area so we wouldn't get arrested when the ambulance and police turned up to get those guys to hospital for the mauling we'd given them.
Not my proudest moment, but it was necessary all the same. On the whole though i try to avoid fights wherever possible, because i know the only way they will end is with someone being dead, or both of us being so badly injured the fight can't continue.
Edit: stopped an insane amount of fights being an imprompteau bouncer at partys and gigs, but then again most people give up when they see some 6'2" tank dressed in an all black suit and leather trench coat storming towards them.
