I just finished high school a few months ago, and I haven't been in a fight in a LONG time. I find that fighting is a rather poor idea because even if I win; my fists are going to be hurting the next day even if I don't take a blow. When people try to get me to fight or get in my face, I will more often then not simply say "Hit me or walk away, either way this is going to be over in a minute or two". I find that people usually backdown at that point; then again, high schools are populated with people who think they are a lot more badass then they really are.
That being said, I also don't make it a point to make friends with people who are hot heads. Most of my near fights have been with people I barely know (Basketball games getting too rough, ect.).
