Since there isn't nearly enough people using it for hackers/virus writers/script kiddies to really start paying attention, they haven't really written enough to warrent anyone writing anything to get rid of it. Yeah, thats what I would do. If you are really paranoid about it, it should be pretty simple to write a little shell script to clear the cookies out on a regular basis.
