Fixing a 1990 Ford Tempo GL taillight
Hey dudes,
maybe this belongs in how-to, but I thought I'd put it out there for the car guys to see first.
I broke this girl's taillight while we were seeing each other, and now we're done, but her taillight is still fucked and she wants me to fix it which I've agreed to do. It's gonna be $230 if I take it to the dealership, I don't really want to do that, and I 'think' I know enough about cars that I can do it myself.
I know that i"m gonna have to pull the whole taillight unit out of the thing, and get a replacement one.
Does anyone know where I can get a cheap replacement? I've looked at a few junkyards but haven't found anything, I'm going to look at a few more.
The next problem is, I know how to get the unit in and out, but I don't know if I need to do anything else. Does it have to be sealed? or sealed to the car? Is there a good way to make sure that moisture isn't going to get in there and mess up her taillights all of the time?
Is there anything else I need to do?
Any and all help appreciated.
