deep sea creatures would be the only possible surviviving remnants of the pre-deluge (edit: fixed spelling) world.
Humans are incredibly limited and blind when exploring the deep ocean and it would not surprise me at all if some of the huge fish are still down there. It only has been 6-10,000 years or so (or even 15k with the higher figures some prefer) since the deluge and there is no reason that at least a small portion of those creatures survived over the years.
