excellent tips, especially from Yakk... i'm going to be trying them out

i would add one, especially for high intensity stuff (big weights or interval training): think about something that really makes you angry... think about someone who pisses you off that you'd like to kill... imagine how much fun it would be

it gets your heart rate up and gets all the adrenaline flooding round your body just lovely
