(Atlanta-AP) -- Georgians who want their beer to pack a little more punch will be able to buy higher-octane brew after July first, thanks to one of more than 100 new laws taking effect that day.
The measure allows bars to now stock international beers that exceed the state's previous six percent alcohol limit for beer by
volume. The new law raises the permissible level to 14 percent.
Also taking effect Thursday is a law that will require parents to hang onto automobile safety seats for their offspring a little longer than they expected. The state currently requires booster seats for kids under five. After July first, booster seats will be required for kids under six.
Another new law which applies to motorists requires all drivers in fender benders to get their cars off the road. Supporters say that new law is an effort to relieve gridlock.
Two new laws address issues nobody seemed to think were problems.
One makes it a felony to sell children in Georgia. The other allows for civil lawsuits against anyone who damages private monuments created to honor military personnel.

now....I've never in my life had any beer stronger than Icehouse which is 5.7X (cant remember exactly what the percent is)
Can anyone tell me what kinds of beers we might expect to be seeing now....and how something as strong as 14% would taste?
