Try something that's more fun and much harder than pissing people off by being a smart ass. Try to learn to be a massive smart ass, who doesn't piss people off. It's much more fun.
An example. Lori is a friend of mine, none of our friends get along with her sister Chris. If they even look at her cross eyed, she goes into fits. The girl is really really hard to get along with, or joke around with. I had all their jaws hanging on the floor because the very first thing I said to her was basically that she didn't have much of a chest compaired to her sisters. Then I proceeded to spend the rest of the night making fun of her. She loved it, I didn't say any of it in a mean spirited way, was laughing the whole time, making fun of myself and her both. I blew everyones mind, there's no way that she would have taken a single one of those comments from anyone else, but I made hundreds of them.
I pissed off tons of people learning how to be this way, but now days I can get away with so much it's amazing, and fun as hell too. Every once in a while when I go over the line, and someone is having a bad day, they get a little pissed about it. I don't want to really make anyone mad, or hurt their feelings so I try to apologize usually. The only thing is, I don't usually get the chance, they almost always apologize to me before I can tell them I'm sorry. It blows my mind, they feel really horrible usually, and I'm the one that's being a dick or smartass.
