Bah, it's the same old story. A fan sits way up in his lofty seat, overlooking the entire rink, can see everything, including that missed call, and suddenly he thinks he can do a better job than the ref down on the ice.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Being down on the ice is whole different game. You don't have the advantage of being able to see everything. Players get in the way of other players, literally dozens of things are happening all at once, and on top of that, no matter how fast you think the game is sitting in the stands, its at least 10 times as fast on the rink.
As much as refs piss me off sometimes, I just think that most people are too quick to judge them without ever having to experience their roles.
