So I have Phimosis. What is phimosis? "An abnormal constriction of the foreskin that prevents it from being drawn back to uncover the glans penis.". So basically, my foreskin doesn't draw back during an erection. I can pull it back when I'm flaccid, but it is slightly uncomfortable. Absolutely impossible if I'm erect though, and it hurts if I try.

When I was born I was going to be circumcised, but my parents delayed and by the time they asked to have it done, insurance would no longer cover it. Now I'm kind of fucked. My questions are:

Those of you with phimosis, does it affect you in any way during sex? (yes I am a loser who hasn't had sex yet).

Since I have phimosis, will insurance cover the costs of a circumcision?

Has anyone had a circumcision after puberty? (I'm 18 now). How bad was it? How long was the recovery period? Do they give you painkillers?

Is there anything else I can do aside from getting cut that will be able to allow the foreskin to retract?
