Ya know, it's funny. I just dealt with this about 15 minutes ago.
For your current session... call up taskman and kill off qttask.exe
To permanently do the job...it's regedit time...
browse to HKLM - Software - Microsoft - Windows - CurrentVersion - Run
Highlight the entry for qttask.exe and mash the Delete key as hard as you possibly can.
QuickTime for Windows is one of the most braindead pieces of software ever written. It's mind-numbing when you compare it to how wonderfully the native Mac versions have always worked.
There is no reason whatsoever why qttask should need to do whatever it is that it's trying to do when it encounters a Zip drive or similar device. BRAINDEAD!
