IMHO, I think that FFXI is truly innotiative and actually one of the few to actually pay homage to the original ideas of FFI, basically the idea that people starting up from nothing...know nothing of their destiny and can go on to achieve great things. I guess what gets to most people is the fact of having to pay for it...and what I say is that given the quality of game you are getting...what you are paying is actually cheap.

OK, first off, to stay on topic, I think that while the Japanese release is this summer, the english release is in the fall or something like that. I seem to remember reading that somewhere.
Regarding FFXI (and I don't like to stray too much off topic so I'll keep this short) I have no doubt that it's a great, fun game. And I would certainly be willing to pay a little extra for it since it has such phenomenal replay value as is inherent in it's nature. However, I simply have something against "subscribing" to a game - it goes against my better judgement. $12 a month may be cheap, but that's $144 a year! If I play it for just 2 years, that's $288! Sorry, but however fun it is, I'd rather buy 8-10 games and enjoy them than pay that price for just one. Nothing against the game, just the money.
