I wonder if the day will ever come when Canada represents a contingency of countries much like Europe currently does, that being each province is actually an independant country.
That would be interesting especially regarding who would sink or swim or if the US would think of expanding. There would clearly be winners and losers.
And it is not so far fetched. In recent years, aside from Quebec, Newfoundland, Manitoba, Alberta and even Ontario have posed the "What if ?" question to some degree or another. Maybe 20 or 30 more years of federal government micro-management will be enough of a carrot to dangle.
