check again. i just logged in to one of my basic yahoo mail accounts and under options you can check pop mail. and, since we're on the subject, the $20 annual upgrade to yahoo mail is worth it. no ads, 2GB of storage and you can customize your pop mail features (choose the 'from' address, stuff like that).
