Wow. From the subject line I thought this would be a very interesting conversation, since the question posed is a twist from the original. More than half the replies are geared towards the question "Should QUEBEC separate from Canada", while the ACTUAL question was "Should CANADA separate from Quebec." This is not about Quebecers, it's about the rest of this country. Do non-Quebecers want Quebec as a part of their country? AS for the question making Canada look smaller, let's all leave our insecurities at the door, shall we.
I hear a lot of Quebec bashing from other Canadians, even on the TFP, but if the province sucks so much money out of the others, if you are sick of having to learn French in high school, if you are sick of having the Bloc around, then why wouldn't you say "screw'em" and leave. This is what I perceive as the true purpose of the thread title: to turn the tables and see whether the rest of Canada would feel better off without Quebec and vote to separate itself from it.
Personally, I was never a separatist. I love my country as a whole and consider it one of the best places to live.
