I would go back to the the time of my adolescence and say all the attraction to mass media, "alternative culture," "sex, drugs, and rock-and-roll," and my identification of myself as an "intellectual," "rebel," or a "special type of person" is self-defeating nonsense that will hurt me in ways I will not comprehend.
