One of my drives showes about 10g missing. I found this folder under "recycler" called NPROTECT. It has 10g worth of bullshit in it that won't delete. This folder doesn't seem to exist on any of my other drives. Please let me know what this is and how I can get rid of this.
There's also a folder in my C: drive that is 0 bytes that will not delete.

nprotect is part of NORTON UTILITIES
Basically Norton Utilities\Systemworksreplaces the Windows "recycle bin" with its own version called nprotect.
It is supposedly "better" than Microsofts recycle bin because it is less likely to fail, it compresses the stored info better, and when you "empty" it it doesnt just delete the information, but it writes zeros to the disk where the information was... thusly making any future attempt to recover that information by other profesional tools completely impossible.
If you are concerened about it holding 10GB woth of stuff... well that just means you need to empty your recycle bin. You have actually deleted over 10GB of stuff and Nprotect is saving that stuff incase you ever want to restore it (it compresses it so it takes up less space and then archives it. Just empty your recycle bin.
Uninstall Systemworks or leave it alone. Norton Tools are very system invasive and tend to get into all kinds of stuff and give themselves special privleges. For the most part it's okay, if you don't like it... uninstall them and run them diretly off the CD when you need to.
