I know what you are saying about the unwanted burden of a child and but really find it poor taste to refer to children as a disease. They are a precious gift when we are priveledge to care for them and a great responsibility to be able to mold their young lives.
It seems like there is a lack of details in this article. What kind of condoms were tested? Were they only latex? Polyurethane? or "natural membrane"? It seems to me that the natural membrane type would not have the chemical as they wouldn't need to have their elasticity enhanced as latex would. But was this study done on Poly? I am allergic to latex so Poly is how we go when we use them. I have a feeling that Poly would not need the additive as much as latex. Making it safer as far as cancer goes - though it's not been tested as extensively for prevention of STD's.
