Firstly, is your hair thick or thin?
If it's thick, stay the fuck away from pantene! Pantene's products are based around using proteins, which is all well and dandy if you have thin or broken hair, as it helps in the repair and condition, if you have thick hair (like me), the last thing you need is more protein.
Now, find yourself a good conditioner. Shampoo will strip your hair of all the nice oils, moisture and what not that it needs to keep itself in shape, so you put some conditioner on afterwards to replenish it.
My hair is about 2" beyond my jawline, very wavy (formerly curly, but the weight is just starting to make it a tad straighter) and thick as hell. I give it a wash and condition about once a week, with a rinse ever 3-4 days, as otherwise it just gets too dry to do anything with.
Regular brushing (with a nice brush, not a comb) is the way to get your hair tamer. The brushing brings oils from the scalp down into the hair and also stops those damned knots from forming.
Give us a few more details about what your hair is like, and i'll see what other pearls of wisdom i can impart.
hmm, i'm not actually sure how much of a bloke i feel anymore after saying, and understanding, all of that
