Being a musical person, I know that I think of certain people when I play some of my songs, and it shows.
As far as someone playing something for me, I think if it was done truly to express something to me and not to show off to other people ( ie we're alone) I'd really be touched in that the spent the time to prepare something in hopes of sharing it with me. It takes time to perfect music, so especially if they played something I liked, even if secretly I think I hear dogs howling, I'd melt
