i have always secretly wanted a guy to serenade me. anything he picked is fine...seriously any song would do. but yeah i love dashboard confessional and duncan sheik, the cure, anything sappy or hopelessly romantic. 
"hands down" might hafta be my fav sappy love song type of serenade song. hehe.
