Pelicark - adaptation from the old latin phrase "phallic arc", a pelicark is a curved cudgel that is used in parts of the minoan islands to beat young, unruly girls into obedient submisssion. The cudgel is curved much like the erect penises of men of the region, and is slightly bulbed at the "head" end. Curiously, when laid on the ground, some of these cudgels seem to fall to the right side, and some to left - but a given peliark almost always falls to the same side consistently.
