Yep. The rest of what you said about whole wheat bread and natural peanut butter is good advice too.
Normal grocery store peanut butter, while being a good source of protein also has a lot of sugars that you don't really want. Read a few labels comparing 'normal' PB and 'natural' PB. You're looking for less carbohydrates, sugar specifically.
The same thing goes for jam too. Not all of it is made with real fruit, read the labels, you'll see.
