Try this: Go to the control panel, or right click on My Computer, and select Manage.
If you go the Control panel route, look for a folder called Administrative tools, then a folder called system tools, then double click on services in that second folder. (not component services)
If you go the computer management route, select the services and applications at the bottom of the left side pane, then select services.
Now, you should have services up on your screen, scroll through them to find one called Print Spooler.
Click once on it, and select start (just to the left of where the services are listed).
BTW, the print spooler should have Local System in the right most colum, and Automatic to the left of Local System, as the startup type. If they don't, you can right click on the printer spooler service, select Properties, and set the startup to automatic on the first tab, then on the Log On Tab, select Local System and DO check interact with desktop.
