Children of Dune Miniseries
I just saw this for the first time (I know it's old, but I need to vent). I have read the books, seen both Dune and the Dune miniseries, and I did enjoy Children of Dune. I feel like the comic book guy from the Simpsons when I do this, but it would have been perfect, if not for a couple of annoyances that really distracted me from the experience:
There was no attention to detail. For example, whether peoples' eyes were blue depended completely on the scene, and some people whose eyes should have been blue never were. This just freaking annoyed me. I had to keep forcing myself not to look for the blue eyes. It should have been all or nothing, either give everybody blue eyes, or none. Not to mention everyone was the wrong age. And for god's sakes, where are the stillsuits?
Alia's accent was distracting.
Farad'N was freaking annoying.
The handling of the start to Kralizec was a little unbelievable. He gets on little scale on his arm and all of the sudden he's invulnerable? At least it was slightly more believable in the book.
All in all, I would say it was a fantastic miniseries, but these little annoyances were enough for me to rank it below the first one.
