Anyone use MythTV here? I haven't done it yet, been to busy but from what I hear it's an open source program that runs on linux that works like tivo.. Wouldn't this be a better solution than both TIVO and the cable co DVR? mostly cause it's free, and being open source you can make it do anything you want it to do programaticly.

Nah. Tivo is still pretty cool. Just for an example, I wanted to watch a movie this morning and had paused the TV while I took a shower. Later when I came back I accidentally hit one of the channel buttons and when you do that you lose whatever you had paused. (bad side to Tivo) BUT...all I had to do was hit the record button and it told me when the movie's coming on again and I could just record that one. (good side to Tivo)
