I'm a Canadian living in Australia... and I've been to the States countless times.
I'd choose Canada over Australia, no question. The weather is better here, but the people, the cost of living, and the culture is a lot better in Canada. Plus you'll be in close proximity to home. It takes a day of my life to fly back to Canada. Each. and. every. time.
