Of course Lorne Green was going to be a great battleship commander, i mean look at all the evil forces he had to defend the Ponderosa from!

I liked both, but B5 is my favorite sci-fi series.
It was the most realist scifi show - Star Trek was "reconfigure the warp engines to do everything!". But I still love ST. In B5, Earth is not the most powerful in the galaxy, just a upstart planet that's hungry for more. We still use money, there's still political infighting, and force is used more. I loved the arching 4 year plot line. B5 was so successful that it caused Deep Space Nine to follow a very similar muti-season plot line. That’s when I started to tune in to DS9. Star Trek never had battles until B5 came along

Don't get me started with what's wrong with Galactia. It’s a show that could have had more promise, if it had writers that had a vision. Its so cobbled together with weak plots its almost sad. From the first movie where 400 Cylons are coming at the Fleet, and Baldar convinces the President that "it’s a Cylon welcoming fleet". Result – the fleet and their respective homeworlds destroyed…The writing is so bad.

The NEW<a target=new href="http://us.imdb.com/Title?0314979"><b>Battlestar Galactica</b></a> Mini series from the Sci_fi Channel is going to suck!

And a new game is in the works <a target=new href="http://tfproject.org/tfp/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3322"><b>Battlestar Galatica game to be set 40 yahrens before the original tv series</b></a>
