He doesn't have everything. He got screwed over by a guy who's about to get away with it. So, he desperately wants to extract his revenge upon him. I didn't find this to be terribly out of character.
Also, I think he was talking about walking away from everything you've got, at a moments notice. He did have his revenge, the girl, and the money and he did walk away from it all when he saw the heat, literally, around the corner...
