I was in a similar situation, but kinda reversed. There was a VW bug in front of me just driving slow as hell, causing traffic to back up behind it. I wait and wait and finally see a point where I can safely pass the car, so I do. Now, I'm not sure what exactly I did wrong by passing him ... but for some reason he took exception to it and decided to speed up and give me a piece of his mind.
I guess he wasn't a very good driver. Because when he pulled up next to me at a stop sign to chew me out, he rammed my car door. He must have realized his mistake because he pulled away from my car, but not before I got out and gave his little yellow bug a nice hard kick.
As you can imagine I was pretty hot, as well as the 4 passengers in my car who were earlier playing basketball with me. I simply could not let him get away. I chased him down and eventually followed him to a church ... where he got out of his car. I imagine he was about 5'5" and 120 lbs, much smaller than me and my companions ... and he looked very scared.
As I got out to deal with this man, I saw his 3 little daughters inside his car. I'm not sure why, because at that time I wasn't in my kinder stage of life, but the sight of the little girls fearing for their dad's safety extinguished any anger I had. We discussed the situation calmly and he paid for the damgages. As I look back now, having a daughter of my own now, I still feel disgust at myself and ashamed when I picture the little girl's faces. Although it turned out relatively well, it's still something that bothers me.
